Hopes and Dreams

Inevitably hopeless dreams
Contradicting reality
Growing stronger and stronger
Only to be destroyed into nothing

False dreams held by many
Only to become true for few
Squashed resulting in tears
Never-ending painful tries to shine through

Teasing you with a tempting chance
That turns out to be only a dream
Nothing more than a thought
Never allowing you to be fully happy

Stabbing at you continuously
Until eventually you die
Cold, alone, and never having succeeded
Still with only hopes and dreams
