Reflection

by Shawn Williams   Jul 30, 2005

As sun sets silhouette succumb to shadows
He’s encased staring to starry space.
The night moonlight shines to highlight his face
Laying in strange place with no family to claim his name sake
He hasn’t shaved for days his clothes need changed
Perfect people passing enraged others grab for mace
They see savage deranged what a waste they think
Perfected fresh flesh covered in stink
He reeks you can smell him from 15 feet
I glance a peak and see underneath the filth and feces is me?

Wow. For a short poem, that is pretty darn amazing. I like the fast pace it seems to have, felt like I really was inside your mind.

That was such a creative and unique idea for a poem. Great imagery and very well written. It makes one think of how difficult life can be for some individuals. Take Care! Brooke~
