Rose Red

by Greta Miller   Jul 31, 2005

Staring into space
unwilling to see your face
so lifeless and still
The tears begin to spill
down my tear stained cheeks
Wishing you could speak
but never again
its come to an end
you left me here
to rot and seer
with pain and depression
you left your impression
in my mind forever
the tie has been severed
we seperate now
in 2 seperate worlds, I wonder how
I could have saved you
Something else I could do
racking my brain
How to end our pain
yet keep you here
I wipe away a tear
and I finally look at your face
No longer into the empty space
Now I realize
as I look into your eyes
I see your not there
Its so unfair
You left me here
With everything to fear
Now with the last goodbye
Out in the open sky
See the ropes wind down
Lowering you into the ground
I hold out my hand and release
the long stem rose
and watch it flutter down
and land gently on your casket.
