You burst the floodgates to my mind
and released a torrent of memories
you let me leave this pain behind
and cured me of my misery
you taught me everything i know
and returned me to my feet

yet you concealed the darkness in your heart
and you left my mind more torn apart
you where the one who lifted me above
and then drowned me in your painful love

you clasped your hand around my heart
and watched me fall back to the start
yet you loved me, in your strange way
