I used to Believe

by Lithium   Jul 31, 2005

Gravity is holding me back holding me down,
From a fate of love so true for you,
A presence of note heart filled sound,
Free from these lies tied untrue,

From the blood in my veins to be spilled,
To the sparkling eyes which you once stared deep within,
Finding how strong my feelings fulfilled,
With thoughts of you only to begin,

Upon a time where oceans found the sand,
Was the intensity of my hearts content?
For not any guy but a caring man,
To show me the way of life to great extents,

Show me the world how no one has ever seen,
Show me how to live happily with one,
How many places can come in-between?
You and me undone,

You can't be taken away if not even mine,
You can't hurt me if I’m not yours,
You can't tell me that I look fine,
We only lasted a month you can't say we'll last for years,

You can't tell me these things because were not together,
Your words a part of which I shall always grieve,
If I didn't dump you maybe there'd still be a forever,
Then when you said those words I could believe.

Dedicated to Michael, I used to believe.

This poem conveyed the feeling of a sad story extremely well, esp. the last stanza. 5/5.
