Go to sleep, down by the river of reflection
Lost in deep thought, no point or direction
Slumbering gently by the silver mountain
Wrists burning gently in a ruby fountain
Scarred and twisted by fiery pain and hate
A constant threat to change ones fate

Sleep next to the ashes of those who are lost
Tire and rest but at what mighty cost
Tears are frequent like wind and like rain
Pools of misery empty out the pain
Shadows chase in the darkest depths of dreams
Ripping friendships and loved ones at the seems

Sleep, sleep as the world continues to turn
Sleeping by the embers and the spit and burn
Haunted by demons which others cannot see
Drowning in others sorrows in the midnight sea
Float above the stars on a drug filled high
Insomniac smoking up the amber sky

Sleep by the candles as they flicker and die
By the vultures who, above your head, do fly
Words carved in fire shine brightly in the night
Sleep whilst the murderer is out of sight
Halt in the voids of peril and darkness true
Murky waters cloud your vision as terror flew

Sleep to escape the living, to escape your life
Wake beside the shadows and your bloodstained knife
