Lost Inside (The tale of a suicidal bride)

by Lenny   Aug 1, 2005

Lost inside, she searches within
The perfect bride tall, blonde and thin
The choice is hers, as she sits in her dress
Controlled by nerves, the pressure and stress

She pulls the bullets out of the drawer
Hesitates, turns, then locks the door
Sits in front of a mirror and looks at herself
Imagines her life- baby, husband and wealth

A single tear rolls down her cheek
Her hands- shaking, limp, weak
The gun her husband-to-be’s revolver
One shot to the head it’d all be over

She looks to a photo of him at her side
They’re smiling with eyes lusty and wide
The time is now- her final decision
To end it all? Or to live out her vision

A knock at the door makes her gasp in surprise
‘Can I come in?’ her unknown guest cries.
She panics and knocks the gun to the floor
The doorknob turns, she’s frozen once more

The lock on the door traps someone outside
What should she do? Flee, run or hide
She bundles the bullets and gun to her arms
Loads it on the floor, breathes deep then calms

Her decision is made- true and final
She picks the gun up off the vinyl
Cocks it high, lays her finger on the trigger
Then throws it down- her intention go figure

She dries her eyes and paints on a smile
Then heads for the door set to walk down the aisle.
