Now and Then

I look upon the rain falling down,
Hiding my tears of when we depart,
The long sleeves to forever be worn,
To cover the scars of my broken heart,

Take me by the hand somewhere new,
Guide me through the dark night,
Standing here I await,
For you to turn this dark to light,

I thought you’d be here,
Always by my side,
To help me up when alone,
When lost you would find,

Everything is so confusing,
Feelings I have never felt before,
Come through showing strong,
Needing no encore,

There are no more footsteps,
On the ground to call my own,
There are no more midnight phone calls,
I’m left here all alone,

Every word you say,
Touches me so deep,
Every piece of you,
Is one I’ll forever keep,

I can’t think of anyone else,
Nor do I want to try,
I can’t go on feeling,
As if it’s my time to die,

Maybe I’m just out of my mind,
To feel the love I have for you,
I was so strong and full of life,
Only when I was with you.
