Yesterday I got a nephew
Pretty as can be
Like him there are few
I wanted everyone to see

5 pounds, 5 ounces
18 inches long
his little arm bounces
when you sing him a song

long fingers and brown hair
never ever cried
people started to stare
So happy I would die

We fought to hold him
to change him and to touch
Clothes oh so much of them
we all love him so much

His mom was full of joy
and so was his dad
He didn't have a toy
but had no time to be sad

He daddy flew in to see
his new baby boy
from an army base
where he had to be deploy!!!!!

Authors note:
For those of you who dont understand the end of this poem, my brother is in the national guard and in Iraq and when nathaniel was born he had to fly in and see him!!!!!!!!
