Your decisions (here- this one rhymes, k?)

by Jolene   Aug 1, 2005

I see the pain in your eyes
and i hear you crying again
without another word
i knew it was him
i don't know why you do this-
putting yourself through all this pain
nothing is getting any better
we both know there's nothing to gain
it's not just your life that's destroyed
you never thought to look at me
you're too stubborn to admit you're wrong
embarrassed to set us both free
we've been through this shit before
yet you say it's just not the same
i know you can see past his lies
and you still think you're not the one to blame
you put us both in the relationships
and I'm always forced to comply
but right now, I'm going to draw the line
I'm going to stop this crap tonight
I've given you the choice before
and I'll give you the same grace
but i know you'll just choose him
i can see it all over your face
you're supposed to take care of me
and my younger brother as well
but you're only thinking of yourself
making our lives a living hell

Wow dude. Beautiful poem. I went through some similar stuff when I was younger, so I can understand something of what you've experienced. Being able to see so clearly what's going on, and seeing that person make the same stupid mistakes over and over. It does get easier as you get older, trust me. Wishing you all the best, Matt.
