Drunken love

by joey   Aug 1, 2005

The sun inches past the window's defense's
Opened up and weakened by the empty bottles
Happiness derived from the glasses
That are now thrown aside in bunches

Here we lay, sprawled across the bed
Cuddling left over from the night before
The sun is coming out
And we are sleeping in
Sunk inside of blankets
Still holding on, and still dreaming,
Dreaming of the night before

There are moments when I know it
The world revolves around us
And there I am gazing into your beautiful eyes
Lost in you I begin to understand;
I make sense of how I'm falling for you

Staring into perfection, all the possibilities weigh on me
And I die trying to keep myself from kissing you
I'll destroy myself with naivety
But without you, there isn't anything to miss

Surrendering common sense to heavenly bliss
I long for eternity
Replacing old dreams with lustful flattery
But still you don't know the depth of my words
So I'll be right her waiting;
Right out front, just waiting

After all of this, it was a sweet dream
Another flawless night ruined by untimely reality
It's all I have, blurred memories of my finest moment
It's a memory like a fallen star
That's landed in the palm's of our hearts
However, only reminding us of who we are
