Tonight to Remember

by AllHailTheHeartbreaker   Aug 2, 2005

Dappled light on the forest ground
Sun setting over the trees
He's kneeling down, lighting the fire
Dirt covering his knees

Camping out
On a hot summer night
All alone
Until the morning's light

Sweet innocence
Of two best friends
Joined at the hip
Until the summer ends

Sleeping bags
In the bed of the truck
Twelve cans of Coke
Like we can't get enough

As the light fades
Into night
He says to me,
"Everything is all right."

Then he smiles and says,
"Don't worry 'bout September.
Even when I move away
We'll always have tonight to remember."
