Reading my eyes when I’m awake Looking like it’s me up on the stake Everything I ever knew Now I know that we are through I’m living life in bandage tape It seems I love to see you gape Daydream and it’s a young hero Sign my name with capital zer0 Reading my Eyes when I am here Feeling your gaze while I am near You embody all that I hate Seeing me here, you imitate Sensing my thoughts while I am far Making me feel not up to par Look into the mirrors that you call eyes With a sinister smile you hypnotize Can you see my pious soul? Striped of all the hope you stole When will you walk upon the sea? Turn around, face the devil in me Throw away your tainted trust Leave behind a heart of rust I promise I won’t ever be Reading my eyes when I can’t see Reading my eyes when I’m awake Living life in bandage tape Promise I will never be Read my eyes and you will see

Holy Crap this is awesome! Luke - it is so good to see you writing [forgive my belated response, so much going on] This is an utterly imaginitive, powerful piece. I love the way you 'out'cry. I just loved every stanza : young hero - capital zero awake - bandage tape. The imagery and the 'pious' rusted soul is so eerily affective that It has taken an entirely beautiful role in this poem. If you get my drift. Blessings to you my dear Brother! 5/5
