Lord I thank You for the holy sacrament of confirmation
That strengthens and matures me with the chrism of salvation
The Bishop said; I sign thee with the sign of the cross, as he anointed my forehead
I confirm thee with the chrism of salvation, then these most holy words were said
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost
I was then to be given the gifts and graces that my soul needs the most,
I was touched by ‘The Holy Spirit’, and I became so very engrossed
I was to be made a soldier of Christ, strengthened for my post
The Holy Spirit brings sanctifying grace we know
That will make our spiritual life flourish and grow
