Life or Death

by Katie   Aug 2, 2005

The screams I hear, the hearts that are almost dead.
Motivate me to keep running ahead.
People that lose, memories that are lost.
I’ll keep living my life, at whatever cost.

Such a beautiful place this world once was.
Terrorists flying planes into buildings for no reason, just because.
Teenagers driving drunk with no intentions of slowing down.
More crashes, more losses, more dead hearts, making the world turn upside down.

But, I’ll be ready for what lies ahead.
Whether I remain alive, or become dead.
The loved ones I have, the memories that remain.
No matter what, nothing will stay the same.

Mothers dying giving birth, children being abused.
Its not just one person, everyone is to be accused.
People may lie, people may try.
People may hurt, and people may cry.

Whether near or far this is where you are.
You can hope, pray, and dream, even wish on a star.
But this is your home now, unfortunately we are the ones.
Who continue to live in this world full of bombs, drugs, and guns.

People state their opinion, they try to change the way.
But this is how it will stay, no matter what anyone can say.
We will eventually win, but first we must lose.
Life or death, we must choose.
