My opinion on War

by Kelli   Aug 2, 2005

Standing tall and proud,
the guns shot, oh so loud.
I put on a brave face,
but that's not the case.
Regardless of the terrifying fear,
there are no shed tears.
But as the days go by,
the truths beginning to show
I can feel the bullet in my heart,
the same bullet thats tearing my family apart.
My stomach is beginning to churn
knowing I'm not to return

The lesson is yet to be taught
those who fought
cut their lives short
we all know war is not the answer,
it's a deadly disease, like cancer.
It rips families apart,
leaves broken hearts.
Kills innocent beings
why is the innocence the only ones seeing?
