A Real Nightmare

by Animus   Aug 3, 2005

I awaken to the dawn
realizing it was only a dream.
I lean back against my pillow, remembering.

I'm walking down the street
Darkness surrounds me.
I'm searching for something,
but not sure what.
I turn a corner and find
what I'm looking for.
I can hear its heart beat,
feel it's pulse.
My skin tingles with apprehension.
I hate doing this, but I must.
Blood is the key to my survival.
I feel my canines lengthen
and become razor sharp.
My eyes blacken with lust.
I stifle their screams as I drag them down an ally.
I gorge myself on human blood,
then lick my lips with satisfaction.
My deed is done.....for the night.
I wrap my arms around myself,
feeling as I transform.
Then I lift my golden wings above
my head and fly toward the moon.
I crawl into bed to sleep off my
drugged state.
I awaken to the dawn
realizing it wasn't a dream.
This is my life,
My curse.
I'm a Vampyre
