DAddy where'd you go

by dona moo-young   Nov 10, 2003

How could you leave her
Run away in the night
Leave a little child
Who crys at dawns light

As she awoke she looked around
But her daddy was no where to be seen
She never had a chance
She was barely a teen

A poor little childs voice calls out in the wind
\"Daddy where\'d you go\"
Where could he be
No one really knows

How could he run away
Doesn\'t he care
How could he leave his child
With not even a prayer

How will she live now
Alone and confused
All the love she had to offer
Mistreated and abused

\"How could he could he leave me all alone\"
A child wants to know
\"Didnt he love me\"
\"Did he ever tell me so\"

How can she learn to sing now
When no ones there to teach her a song
How can she learn to love now
When the one person she loved is gone

All she could have learnt
Will never be known
Her dad wasnt a man
He was barely grown

This poor little child
Her mom was never there
And from what shes seen
Her daddy never cared

A little girl
Who\'s life went all wrong
No longer a child
She had to learn to be strong

If only some one had treated her good
If only some one had been there
If only her daddy did\'nt leave her
If only he cared

A girl cries out
\"daddy where\'d you go\"
why won\'t he answer
His baby girl wants to know

I know exactly how that goes. Im 15, and never met my father. This poem is really sad, but you have a lot of talent as a poet. Keep on writing.
