Little Girl

by SmIlEbAcKtHeTeArS   Aug 3, 2005

She smiles to her little girl
and she kisses her forhead
puts down the book
and tucks her into bed

whispers i love you
and turns off the light
closes the door
and wishes her good night

she goes to her room
and just breaks down
she knows she'll make it
she just doesnt know how

she looks at a picture
of her beautiful girl
her big brown eyes
the center of her world

her daddy left them
couldnt take it anymore
said he was sorry
and closed the door

now at seventeen
she is left alone
to raise a girl
in a broken home

her daughter deserves the world
but that she can not give
all she can give is love
and a life to live

she climbs into bed
tears down her face
wishing she was in
a better time a place

as she closes her eyes
she hears a little voice
and right then and there
she made her choice

no matter how hard
she wont give up
she'll make it work
she'll make love be enough

all she will ever need
is now by her side
no more reason to run
no longer must she hide
