Daddy came home today

by Ashlee   Aug 3, 2005

Daddy came home today.
I looked in his eyes and knew he had changed.
Death showd clear on his face
Blue eyes lined with hate
He told me he loved me
and i could tell he did
But he also said he saw hell and had to go back again
He could only stay a month because he country needed him.
He told me of honor
and of hate
he told me of a war between race
He told me of religion
he told me of respect
told me of love
and of life
and suddenly he spoke of death
My daddy came home today
knowing he was diffrent
the laughter had left his eyes
innocence replaced with hate
My daddy came home but only stayed a month
he went back again to a war he didn't belive in
a war he said was filled with hate.
My daddy came home that day and he wasn't the only one the war had changed.

*this isn't bout me, it's bout a really good friend of mine. she asked me to write a poem about this for her. to you sweetie.*
