Bloodthirsty need part 1

by backporchpoet   Aug 4, 2005

After it’s over, I know you’ll ask
why did she have to go?
but I had some hidden secrets
I thought you ought to know

I felt like I was betrayed
forced to face the world alone
every day my hope would fade
thought I could fix it on my own

I always hid behind my mask
I guess it was my pride
ending my sorrow was my task
but to no one could I confide

I couldn't bury you in my tears
couldn't bring you down too
to surround you with my every fear
is exactly what I couldn't do

At first it was easy to bleed
from it relief I’d always reap
but then came the bloodthirsty need
to relieve further, and cut deep

The scars began to taunt me
and deep wasn't deep enough
pain and shame began to haunt me
and now the going’s too tough

I want the pain to end
I just can’t take any more
It wasn't your fault, my friend
I got more than I bargained for

I just wanted to say goodbye
it’s the last thing I have to give
the thought of leaving makes me cry
but tell them I love them, and please forgive
