Running Through The Sprinklers

by erin   Aug 4, 2005

What happened to out younger years,
When sleeping in the dark was are biggest fear.
You could be friends with ANY one
and playing in the dirt was so much fun.
What happened to those long afternoon naps,
Then waking up just to sit on grandpas lap.
Where are all those summer days gone
When we'd run through sprinklers on the lawn.
Do you remember all our tree forts
And our red and white matching shorts?
Think back to the memories from our trip across Canada
Wow, mom and dad were so crazy
What about when we started school...
How each one of us thought we were so cool.
All the boys had cooties
And us girls thought we were such beauties
We were so full of energy and ideas
Never had time to cry a single tear.
Now as we grow up we learn theres more to life
That we shouldn't waste our time on stupid little fights
But rather be there when a heart gets broken
And never leave the important things left unspoken
Always make time for friends in need
With tons chocolate and ice cream.
Have a million girls nights out
And go to parties that are full out
As we quickly get older
We'll learn a few new things
And we'll always be ready for what life might bring.
