I'm reaching out for someone
Who truly can't be seen
He's not here by my side
But rather in my dreams

He is my escape
To a friendship unknown
He is my hero
So I'm never alone

He can't stand by my side
But he can help me survive
He can't hold me close
But he can help me thrive

We can talk for hours
About anything on our minds
Friendship isn't just about happiness
It's also about going through hard times

I get a certain feeling
When I know he's near
I'm not sure what it really is
But it helps me forget my fears

I can remember our friendship
And what it really meant
It brings back many wonderful memories
And all the times that we've spent

Talking about life
And all that it bring
Rather it be happiness
Or a failure to get your wings

Our friendship cant be broken
It means more then you think
He is my true hero
He is my link

My link to safety
When no one else is around
My link to happiness
When I'm feeling down

He's there for me to talk to
No matter what
I just wish that he was closer
Instead of leaving me in a rut

I know that he tries
