Fate Slew

by romeo must die   Aug 5, 2005

Distance not withstanding
In trance, I paced miles of the unknown
Abode the misty mountain of nowhere

Oracle’s warnings I never heed
Stubbornly weaving my own fate
I’ll conquer the path to you

A life or two’s all at stake
While even the earth I’ll walk through
Anxiously awaiting my carcass

Uncertainties, I’ll draw my will
Better be killed in a war still undeclared
Than prepare to be defeated, humiliated

Now, there I see someone’s sitting there
Is it you or just another illusion
Baffling me throughout the haze?

Your image putting lights away
Just revealing to me your other side
My bloodied, callused hands tryin’ to reach

Hours of being sober, I’m still with you
Once, for awhile, let reason be overwhelmed
Let instinct be as it should not be
