Not Meant To Be

I used to believe
There was always a perfect ending
But now I have come to know
That there is no such thing

I was so foolish
To think you really loved me
I knew from the very start
But I chose not to see

Instead, I chose to live a lie
Ignoring the truth around
I was trapped within my own world
Where reality was not found

But I finally woke up
From all the blinding lies
I took a hold of the truth
That laid in front of my eyes

Everything became clear
As I was able to see
I realized you never loved me
That it wasn't meant to be
