Everyday Wars

by Prisci Cabezas   Aug 6, 2005

We fight wars everyday
Not all are fought with arms
In fact
Most are fought with the sharp words of the tongue
The deadly arrow of hate
The scorching fire of anger
Evil in the eyes of another
Turning that knife of deceit just a little
Bringing forth pain and suffering

But there’s hope
Hope in my eyes
Hope in yours
And if you look close enough
You just might see it

These are the wars in our hearts
The wars we fight within ourselves
The wars that consume us
Confuse us
Scar us

But there is a power deep inside
Its a feeling
Something is right
Good will come out of this
The good will prevail
If we are patient enough to wait
To withstand the pain of our lives
The pain caused by others

A light hides in every darkness
Sometimes you can't see it
You think its not there at all
Sometimes its very faint
And you think there's no point of having it lit at all
But eventually the light will become brighter
Bringing you out from behind the shadows

It doesn't always make sense
But that's the beauty of life
It's not there to be understood
But to be experienced

Life and death
Love and hate
Light and dark
Good and Evil

The harder it is
The stronger you will become
If you have faith
Patience
And the desire to see things come together
To let them come together in time

"Time is of the essence"
It is true
But time is what you make it
What will you do with your time?
