The Ideal...

by Becky   Aug 7, 2005

From the moment we’re born, a smiling face,
Full of love, affection, nothing less.
Growing up with all we need,
A world of happiness, of glee, of contentment.
No jealousy, hatred or greed.

No one to stand in our way, but to help us along,
To encourage our dreams, celebrate our triumphs.
Friends and family always there,
To love and cherish our days as they go by.
To be happy for us, with all we can share.

People around to rid our woes,
To pull us up when we’re down and understand our troubles.
Even through the darkest days, we should see the light,
With the blackest clouds and the hardest rain,
Through the gaps the sun should shine through, bright.

This is the ideal, of life for all,
To have the love we deserve, and to feel it always.
However, of course this cannot be,
This oh so perfect life, not hard to achieve,
Can not be forever, for always, for all, including me...
