Unconditional Love

by FELTON PHILLIPS   Aug 7, 2005

Seeking unconditional love is to seek that which is unobtainable.
To be loved unconditionally is to receive perfection.
Unconditional love can only be aspired to.
It can never be achieved by man nor woman,
perfection is not in their nature.

Unconditional love is but a conceptual trap,
ensnaring the unwitting in it's net.
Promising bliss and happiness but always falling short.
To receive perfection from that which is imperfect is impossible.

Evenso, be not deterred.
To fall short of perfection is to be human
And it is reasonable to love with all the conditions imposed by the frailties of humanity.

To come up short of perfection does not mean that one should not try.
If not unconditionally, love deeply and openly,
for there is no tradgedy in loving but in never having loved at all.
