You are my Nana

by Abzy   Aug 7, 2005

You are my Nan, no matter what
I know you'll always be with me - even when you're not

I'll miss you when you're not here
But I'm pretty sure you'll always be near

There will be the slightest breeze
When you float past, and I will freeze

When you talk about dying I say to stop
It makes me wanna cry, but the subject can't drop

I'll write a poem, print some lyrics, which connect with us
And I'll visit you're grave with the laminated sheets

I'll always remember you, and you won't forget me
Whenever I visit, you remind me I'm you're baby

I hope you're still with me until I pass
'Cause one things for sure, you're one tough lass

You stroke my hair as I lay on your knee
I'll never forget how you're real name is Marjory

But Caroline is who you'll remain
Filled with love that you can't retain

You're not a grandmother, you are my Nan
And I call you this...Because I can

Not a Grandma, Not my dad's mum
All my life I have called you just one

You are my Nana
