I Don't Need Friends

by Lisa   Aug 8, 2005

I don't need friends
I prefer to work alone

I like to stay in the background
I don't want to be known

I don't need friends
All they do is lie

You find out they stabbed you in the back
You're left there wondering why

I don't need friends
Because they are never there

They come and go as they please
They only pretend to care

I don't need friends
Because they don't need me

They hurt me and use me
Why can't they just let me be?

I don't need friends
They only complicate things

They expect you to do things their way
Confusion is the only thing they bring

I don't need friends
They'll never know me

I am my own person
I don't need anyone telling me who to be

great poem... but katiekate is right, not all friends are liek that... i know sometiems it might be hard to trust people... but everyone needs friends... it's good to be indepentdant and be able to survive on your own, but everyone has their moments when they need someone to talk to, or a shoulder to cry on... everyone has their soft sides... don't push everybody away... you'll regret it in the long run. i don't mean to be harsh, but please listen. but this was a great poem, it flowed and rhymed well... keep it up...

    Stay Strong ^_^
