You Were There

by Jacklyn   Aug 8, 2005

You were there…
When the sky began to fall,
When the puzzle pieces came apart,
And when it crumbled to the ground.
When the world I knew fell cold and dark.

And the stars faded and went dim,
Never to glisten bright again.
When the ocean tide got lost,
Never again crashing upon the sandy shores.
So close to water standing still.

When the flowers forgot to bloom,
Blending with the dead grassy fields.
Once so beautiful and green,
But its life too, crumbled beneath our feet,
Now only a remaining memory.

You were there, when God forgot how to make rain,
When the sun decided to finally leave,
When Earth abandoned me.
As you sat there drunk drowning in your self pity towards us all,
When my world had disappeared… you were there.

~ normally i don't relate to my pieces, but sadly i do with this one. i'm just so tired of him doing this to my family.~
