I'VE TRIED

A thousand tears have fled
these green eyes
yet nothing is there to stop these tears
not even to help them dry
there's too much pain hidden
way too much that's been bottled up inside.

nothing can cure this sadness
nothing to dull this pain
I've tried before
tried to take it all away
but somehow it all comes back again and makes me hide in fear.

these memories play over and over
as they pound deeper and deeper into my skull.

I've tried to forget
I've tried to erase
but all that time spent with you
was just one big waste!

so this is my letter to you
just so you know I've tried.

you and all the memories are like ghosts
they haunt me all the time
but at least i tried.

at least i tried
and i still do
i try to forget you
and everything i thought,
i thought i once knew.
