Poison Love

by Toni   Aug 8, 2005

I’d choke upon your insults
If you’d swallow your own pride
Instead I cling to the bitter sounds
Of all you have left to confide

I inhale the fragments of your words
Just so I can breathe your name
But I know in time, you’ll extinguish
The last sparks, of my inner flame

For you dislike those parts of you
But instead I take the blame
And those hopes of yours that are now paused
Leave me heaving on the shame

Yet you walk away and leave your trail
Of those pills spiked with your revolts
And you know I’ll swallow what you hand me
Poisoning myself with your own faults

So break me apart and fill me right up
With all that you now require
You know I fail at your expectations
For it’s you that I admire

And it’s you I love
Forever...
