Do not love me for my smile
Or for my deep blue eyes
Love me for my heart my dear
And how I hate goodbyes.

Do not love me for my words
Or the way I say your name
Love me for love’s sake my dear
Love me through the pain.

Do not love me from without
Love me from within
Do not love me for what you see
Love me for what's under my skin.

Do not love me for pity's sake
Or because you have seen my tears
Love me just because you love me
Not for my feminine fears.

Do not love me for my way
Do not love me for what you see
Love me because you love me dear
Just love me for being me.
