Letter In The Draw

by ntv650   Aug 9, 2005

So I've finished a letter I’m never going to send.
Written a few hundred words forever unread,
Made intentions and promise still to be kept.
But left them all a story to be told yet.

Forever locked up in my special draw,
Sentences, paragraphs, a small world.
Words hidden away in my heart,
That were meant for yours.

But eternally my feelings can’t hide,
Emotions may linger, urges fall and rise;
Mountains may form while oceans collide.
The love too fake to simply let die;

So I’ll write until my thumb bleeds,
Until my hand bruises and my fingers seize.
I’ll write until the paper refuses to yield,
Even if it’s a letter I know you’ll never see.
Even after the ink runs dry.-
The letter in the draw is where my love will bide.

    This is a really good Poem - The draw can be used as a physical form of your mind, heart or anything you wanted it to be. The best Poems are ones which you can apply your own meaning to me thinks! Thanks for the comment on mine - Haven't written much myself lately either!
