Some things just don't change,
When you're falling into love,
Things just don't make sense,

The chat-room was full,

I hesitated,

Minutes later I hung up,
From telling my best friend my love's name,

As if all happiness had been sucked from it,

He replied all snotty like, with a snort and a sigh,

How can you playing this,
When I thought this could be?

I felt the tears come to my eyes,
But told myself I wouldn't cry,
If all the world could understand,
The pain I felt, the mistake I made.
Then maybe I would feel some joy,
Instead of hearbreaks from just one boy.

The next few days were just a blur,
Went by so quickly then,
I was all so locked up inside,
I misinterpreted now and when,
My best friend called, to comfort me,
And I told her "No, I'm fine"
So much like that fateful day,
When my first love ran away.

I just hope I’m over it,
