Back With Me

I looked up
And saw him looking back at me
And I found myself wondering
What he wanted us to be.

Friend? No. Enemies? No.
A couple once again?
It was possible,
Although we agreed to end.

But now as I sit here
Looking into his eyes
I remember last year
When he told me all those lies.

Was I stupid?
Could I just not see
The way he held back
And lied to me.

So I look away
And let him be
Because it won't work
If he thinks he can get back with me.
