How Long?

For 2 months could a human put on a show?
Could someone do it and never let you know?
Phone calls early in the morning and late at night,
Talking about nothing with cute little fights
You never brought it up before,
even behind closed doors
You couldn't have thought you were close, you know
You know I'm not one of your little h*es
I make my own decisions, you know this
Thanks to you, my questions are endless
But you never knew how close you were
I didn't believe what everyone said because I was so sure
Please tell me you only said that to make up for what we didn't do
Please tell me I didn't waste all of my time on you
None of this makes any sense
Is it all a misunderstanding or am I that dense
Your words now are different from the "you" I know
No one could put on that long of a show
But none of this makes sense, so I don't really know
I need your voice to tell me to stay or go
Nobody else knows how sweet you can really be
Why was I the only one you'd let see
Are you really the b*stard everyone says you are
Or could you be my one shooting star
Is that the truth twinkling in your eyes
Or is that the bullsh*t covering up your lies
Do you really want the whole me
Or was I your little "something" that no one could see
I still love you and want to be with you,
But could you give me a sign, give me a clue
I need your answers before I lose any more tears
I need your help to calm all of my fears
If all this was fake, you can really act good
Maybe you act a little harder than you should
So how long can one put on a show
And how long could no one know
