“This one last time†she says to herself
It won’t change anything
Nothing ever goes wrong
Her good bye to the medicine cabinet, alcohol and knives
Not that she realises it’s her goodbye to life
She empties the pill pot rams them down her throat
Followed by her finishing the half a bottle of vodka she opened this morning
She fetches the knife from inside her pillow
Cleans it on a towel
Takes a deep breath
“One more time, just one more timeâ€
She places the knife against her wrist
The metal running down her cold pale skin
Her flesh tearing apart and ripping open
Over and over again she cuts
Blood pouring from the wounds she inflicted upon herself
She lays down in the middle of her bathroom floor
Cuts covering her face and body
Her mind going blank
Eyes closing
Mind drifting off
It’s wrong
Something is different this time
Blood surrounding her
She’s stopped breathing
Her parents worry about the silence in the house
They run up stairs to find their daughter laying still in a puddle of blood
They try to save her
Call an ambulance
Tears streaming down both their cheeks
Hitting her chest trying to resuscitate her
But it makes no difference
She’s gone.
