Six Years After His Life Begun

Taken so early ,taken so young,
Six years after his life begun.
Just two weeks ago we saw him play,
Basketball in his very own way.
No one dreamed his time would come,
Six years after his life begun.
Now we will no more see him play,
For he was taken from the earth today.
It seems Christ said to Zachary,
Come little child, come to me.
He now hears the Fathers "welcome home,"
And sits with the one who loved him so.
I wonder if he looks below,
And sees us in all our sorrow.
For no one dreamed his time would come,
Six years after his life begun.
