The way love's meant to be...

She gets ready for her romantic date,
In the weeks leading up she spends hours
On perfecting her look while she worries,
And finally her date shows up with flowers.

She looks into his face and is intrigued,
He's everything she wanted him to be,
Her first blind date; she didn't need to worry,
This guy could complete her so simply.

He takes her to dinner, they talk about dreams,
about what they both want to achieve,
He's handsome and humorous, everything she wanted,
He's so right that she cannot believe.

She feels herself falling so gently,
Into the deep and pure affection,
She feels so dizzy but so content
As her life begins its resurrection.

They dance so slowly under the stars,
And in complete silence she feels pure bliss.
The night draws long and he pulls her closer,
And they share a passionate kiss.

And he drops her back off at home,
The night being the most satisfying of all,
He gives her a beautiful goodnight kiss,
And tells her he will call.

She walks inside, bounce in her step,
Mesmerised by this precious night,
And thinks of the feeling of his lips so soft,
As she falls asleep; happiness in sight.

She's so touched by this perfect evening
and waits patiently to hear from him,
But after a month has passed her,
she realises her hopes are so slim.

She remembers how they talked to each other,
She remembers them sharing their dance,
And now he won't even call her up,
He won't even give their love a chance.

She falls into depression quickly,
Just because the her love didn't ring,
She feels so hurt by his actions,
That she can't do anything.

She sits around and cries all day,
Thinking of what they could have been,
Trying to leave it all behind,
Struggling to forget the love she'd seen.

It takes many months for her to feel better,
Then she decides to try another blind date
And she finds someone actually perfect for her,
It doesn’t matter that it’s a little late

She gets ready for her romantic date,
Perfecting her looks once more,
She hears the knocking at the entrance,
And meets her new girlfriend at the door...
