Murdering Hearts

by Ashes of a Black Rose aka Night Child   Aug 12, 2005

Silence intruded into the opaque
blackness surrendered to dismal heartbreak
her hope was lost, and love for him denied
hated and alone she collapsed and cried
hateful tears froze still in midair
dreams slaughtered at the fate of nightmare
hope disintegrated and love incinerated
the last one standing soon eliminated
among them all the smallest was defiance
but it killed them all with a deafening silence
hoped she could hate him but loved him instead
rejected in love she soon joined the dead

This is one of the best things I've read on this site-it just really hit home with me.I love your use of rhyme(which usually I dislike rhyming stuff cause it can be so cliche) but your rhyme usage is fresh and original, especially the internal rhymes in certain lines.Again, your ability to convey such strong emotion is amazing.I can really feel everything so vividly.I love the last line-one of the best end lines I've ever read, such power and impact. This is simply a sad but beautifully created poem.
