The Girl Looking Back

I look in the mirror
and the girl looking back
is smiling
her hair is done
her make-up flawless
her outfit cute
and her eyes sparkling
but within seconds
this girl fades
only to be replaced
by the real me
wearing a long sleeve shirt
her face pale
her black make-up running
her hair lank and messy
her eyes dull
with something dark
lurking behind them
this is the real me
the other girl is just what people see
