To Whom it May Concern

If you're reading this, I'm gone and you can't save me
I'm sorry for the tears I caused, I didn't mean it
Forgive me if you could -- I won't rest until you do.
Don't be mad, keep the anger at bay, at least until you understand

I'm sorry, don't you see?

I tried pretending, I swear I really did
I painted on a smile, carried myself with a false pride and still I tried
I must have for I made you believe, didn't I?
But I forgot about me . . .forgive me please?

I'm sorry, can't you see?

I've told all my lies, weaved them well
Buried my tears, held them inside and went on pretending
I painted my life full of color
Made you believe this was me

Only I failed me and I’m sorry

Please don’t shed any tears this was my choice
You couldn't save me and I never asked
Pretending was all I knew don’t you see?
Do you understand?
Do you see this was never me?

Forgive me. . .

To whom it may concern
If your reading this, I’m gone .
