If I Were In Your Shoes

by Adrienne Day   Aug 14, 2005

If I were in your shoes
I would know how it feels
To be with a person,
To fall head over heels

If I were in your shoes
I would know that you dislike
To not be with one you "love"
But to settle for one you just “like"

If I were in your shoes
I would know all you know
About the way to win your heart
And how to make our love grow

If I were in your shoes
I would see all you see
I would know that in your heart
You felt we weren’t meant to be

But I am not in your shoes
I am in mine
That is not the way I see things
And from our love I refuse to decline

I am in my shoes
This is how I feel
I think our love was meant to last
For me it is very real

I wish you were in my shoes
Then maybe you would see
That I wasn’t meant for you
But you were meant for me

Nice poem. I can sort of conform with it. Been in those situations a few times. In both situations, both shoes. Keep writing, haven't seen anything recent from you in a while. Take Care.
