Homeless and hopeless

by tea lady   Aug 14, 2005

Cold,hungry,no roof over her head
her feet blistered all bloody and red
she asks for money but they pretend shes not there
they've got it good so why should they care

looking in the rubbish bins for a tiny scrap of food
she reaches for and old burger thats already been chewed
her hands go blue as it starts to snow
she tries to find shelter but her pace is slow

in a doorway she curls up to try and keep warm
to her its like she caught in a snowstorm
she closes her eyes and goes to sleep
no longer can she feel her feet

the morning arrives and the door opens wide
a man emerges and finds the girl outside
he checks to see if she will awaken
asleep is what he thinks but is now mistaken

to his horror he found the girl had died
if he knew she was there he would have taken her inside
for she was only 10 years old, cold and homeless
saving her now was beyond hopeless

~* not saying all people are mean GRR to you all! but i just thought it was a good subject to write about*~

Very nice and it is very true, I like the way you make your poems into something that is true--Rachel
