Pools of tears

The sun shines softly through the branches of the willow
As the shadows gently resonate behind my open window
Stop the traffic, freeze the time as life sinks into destruction
My feet follow a slithering path to others corruption

Pushed along a runway to no choice or direction
Staring at the mutilation that was my reflection
Emptiness rages throughout each inch of my soul
Caged in deep darkness and ripped from my whole

Masks better painted as I wander throughout the hours
My footsteps leave gravestones and dead, wilted flowers
Views of happiness are clouded and hidden away
Night rolls in swiftly banishing the day

Masterpieces left to their own simple feelings
Life is nothing more than wounds left unsealing
Deception and trickery lie in ambush for prey
The road becomes rougher as I continue astray

Blood dries so gently staining each road and path
Losing interest in pastimes whilst tearing my soul in half
Whispers and laughter float through my deaf ears
Long worn out smiles protect night times of tears

A hole and a body lying with no purpose or life
Long struck upon by cruelty's platinum knife
Minutes on streets which lay dusty for shadows to reign
Pools of tears show each day full of pain
