She's Taken My Place

by ~*~MoNiQuE~*~   Aug 16, 2005

She struts in, taking my place,
Dressed to impress you, pretty in lace,
Running her fingers through your hair,
You give her that compassionate stare.

You’re doing to her what was special to me,
I see your hand trace above her knee,
This is too much for me witness,
As I imagine you removing her dress.

Hidden in the corner, I try to understand,
This isn’t the way I had it planned,
Somehow I believed we’d be together again,
I never thought I would feel this pain.

In a room full of friends, I feel so alone,
Without you, my past paradise is unknown,
My emotions are crazy, my heart is bare,
All in love and war is defiantly not fair.

From my glassy eyes escapes a tear,
Behind closed eyes, flashes appear,
There’s a glimpse of you and me, mesmerised,
Once captured by loves blue skies.

Forced to reality, I can see her gazing up at you,
Her eyes cut across the room, as if she knew,
Trembling, I melt into the wall,
The room is spinning, I can feel myself fall.
