Dream Box

A box of dreams,
Just for me,
Just lock them inside,
And pray they make you happy in life.

Inside of mine, I have a copper Lincoln,
The smallest of American currency,
But I don’t dream to be rich with money,
I won’t be greedy and just wish for enough to live.

Next there is a clothes tag,
I wish to have enough to cover me and keep me warm.
I don’t need expensive designer name brands,
Just something comfy and cozy that suits me.

Next is a ring, for which I paid twenty- five pennies,
It may be cheap but that doesn’t bother me,
I’d rather have a strong marriage than a wealthy man,
Someone to be with me, no matter the salary.

Now a locker picture frame,
Hopefully to someday hold a picture of my family.
All smiles so pure and true,
I know not everything will be smooth, so God please teach us to forgive and stick together as a group.

Also among with the group is my first poem, my work of art.
May I always remember the beginning and my great support.
May I write for right reasons and not a yellow box.
For writing for me is the greatest gold award I can receive and always keep.

Another item that my box holds, a fortune cookie of happiness and joy.
May my life please be full of it with many memories,
Please be the fuel until the end,
Let me die foolishly happy and not drowning in my misery.

That’s all my box for now shall hold.
It’s simple and small, but all I want,
I don’t want to be greedy or ask for the world.
I’ll let someone else do what I cannot.
