My Conscence

by Chanel   Aug 17, 2005

The time is near
When you would've been here
Kicking and screaming
As I hold you near
Looking at your brown eyes
While wondering if you have his eyes or mines
Hearing you cry for the first time.

But yet I committed a Sin.
2 strikes against me that goes through my mind
Thinking of reasons of why I did what I did
Being a hypocrite about others harming their own
But yet I committed a crime just the same.

Just because the blood isn't on my hands
Doesn't mean I didn't act upon this sin
Not understanding the consequences of this act
Thinking that this is something that will only cross my mind once or twice.
But now that its about that time
My mind is going crazy as it unwinds
As I see your face
Hearing your giggle and cry
Touching you innocent skin
All the things I began to see
While all these can never be
Because I was blind before
And didn't try to see until now
But now plays back before
When I was in the cold white room
Asking myself why I should I play an accessory to murder
I can just walk away right out the door
But the should've,could've,would've are gone before
All I have is the memories of the anniversary
That my precious baby didn't make it to delivery.
